Our Christmas festivities got off to a great start with a fantastic evening on Sat 17th Dec. It was called ‘Christmas in song and verse’
110 people gathered at St.Bs for a great evening of Songs, Readings and lots of Christmassy video clips. The music ranged from carols played on guitar, double bass and accordion. Geoff the Vicar with his best Elvis impression attempting the Mud song ‘It’ll be lonely this Christmas’, Pip James bringing a bit of class with 2 pieces on violin and viola, to Pete, Sarah and Sharon with their lovely harmonies. Amusing readings from Diana Panes and Kaz to young Macauley Smiths reading of the Granddaughter of one of the Magi.
The church looked fantastic with a striking tableau of Mary/Joseph and the Christ child made from Wire mesh by Daniel Ingles. Christmas week included a wonderful holiday club with 30 children on each day. On the Wed we welcomed 15 older people for a tasty afternoon tea and we all watched the great film ‘Miracle on 34th St.’
We had a action packed Christmas Eve service with the best attendance we have ever had. Included in the programme was a superb ‘Bethlehem Rhapsody video clip done with puppets.
The other pictures are from the Men's group Christmas meal. Over 35 men gathered for what is becoming an annual tradition at St.Bs. A great time was had by all.
