Rev Geoff’s Reflections
Reverend Geoff Boland provides a reflective thought. Updated Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Greetings from Geoff
We are so pleased that you are visiting our web site, but to really get to know St.B’s you need to come along and pay us a visit.
We are an Evangelical church that are seeking to be open and to move in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our church is open to a number of community activities, and we are praying for more opportunities to serve the people of Bearwood.
Sung worship and thepreaching of God’s word are priorities for us, and we regularly offer prayer ministry for those who would like it.
Do come and see us and join us as we worship our Mighty God. For full information on up coming services and any of our church groups please check our Events and news pages.
Canford Churches; namely The Lantern, St Barnabas & Canford Parish Church, take our responsibilities surrounding the safeguarding of children, young people, and adults who may be at risk very seriously, and work in partnership with the Diocese of Salisbury to ensure that we work in accordance with best practice at all times.
Our Parish Safeguarding Policy can be downloaded here.
The Power of Prayer
God is ready, willing and able to listen and answer our prayers, all the time.
Sometimes though, we might like someone to pray for us. Here at St Barnabas we have a team of people willing to do just that. It’s easy to request Prayer, just click the link and fill in the Prayer request form and we will pray for/with you. It can be totally anonymous and your details will be kept safe and we will only contact you if you want us to.
Song of the Month
Music is a great way to speak to us but also enable us to speak and worship God, so each month we choose a song to enable us to do just that.
This month the song is:
Broken Vessels – Hillsong Church
We hold services every Sunday at 10:30am. We offer a warm welcome and refreshments are served after the service.
We have two service types: Prayer, Praise and Preach and Holy Communion.
Our services, always include, songs of worship, a talk from our latest series of teachings and time for prayer and healing ministry.
Our services are open to all people and all ages, with our Children’s ministries running during the main service.
Our Little Lambs Crèche is available for birth – 2 years. They meet in the Church foyer and runs during the service. Little ones can feel safe and play, have stories, sing, do craft and learn about how much God loves them. Parents are asked to stay and supervise their children.
Our Lion Cubs group for aged 2 years to Reception also meet in the foyer during the service. Children can learn and play together through singing, craft and Bible stories and grow in learning about who Jesus is, how to talk with Him and about how much He loves them.
Our children’s ministry for Years 1 – 6 meet at 10.30am the same time as our morning worship every week for Bible stories, worship and craft. A fun way to get to know the Bible!
