Giving For The Work Of The Kingdom

Below you can find out about the biblical principles of giving as being part of our discipleship journey.  Additional resources can be found at the bottom of the page as well as details on how you can give (tithe).

Cheerful Giving!

‘Each of you should give as you have decided in your own heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver’

2 Corinthians 9:7

Here are some resources on a Biblical principles of giving.

Teaching on Giving

We believe that giving, and sowing into the life of the church is a biblical calling and a critical part of being a disciple of Jesus. Our giving is both a response to God’s amazing grace and an act of faithful obedience. It recognises that ultimately all that we have belongs to God and that He is the one that provides for our needs, whilst generous giving blesses others and supplies the need of God’s people.

Giving is never meant to be forced or reluctant but cheerful and willing.

How To Give

Giving regularly, say monthly, is a helpful approach and helps the church plan across the year. However this isn’t always possible for everyone and so make one-off gifts when they can.

1. Online

You can make a one off donation or a monthly reoccurring donation using the ‘Gifting‘ button, doing so will take you to our secure payment partners website hosted by Give a Little. This is a safe and secure way to give one off or repeat donations and enable Gift Aid.

As well as the above option, if you want to give regularly why not set up a standing order with your bank. Here are the details you’ll need:

Account name: Parochial Council Church of the Ecclesiastical Parish of Canford Magna (Some banks have difficulty recognising this account name, if you do have difficulty, we apologise, but please contact the office and we’ll be able to  help)

Bank: Santander

3. Legacy Giving

Some people choose to leave a gift for their church as part of their Will which can be a wonderful blessing to a church.

In many cases you can reduce inheritance tax on your estate and increase the amount available for your loved ones by leaving a gift to a charitable organisation such as St Barnabas.

For more information on the tax relief you can get please visit the governments website here

If you would like to leave a financial legacy to St Barnabas, then please include the following details in your will.
